What Is I'm Just Bored?

I'm Just Bored is a hyperlocal activity recommendation tool for Texas cities. You tell it when you have time, what you want to spend, and what kind of energy you're bringing — and it tells you what to do today.

It pulls live weather data so the suggestions actually make sense for right now. Barton Springs doesn't show up in February. The bat tour doesn't show up in January. A rooftop bar gets a warning note when it's 97°F.

It's built for locals — people who live here and need a nudge, not tourists looking for a guidebook. That said, if you're visiting, it'll still work just fine.

Who Made This?

I'm Marlo, and I live in College Station. I built I'm Just Bored because I kept having the same Saturday problem — too much day, not enough plan. I wanted something that would just tell me what to do without making me scroll through 47 Yelp tabs.

This is part of Us Three Studio, a small creative brand I run with my daughter and granddaughter out of College Station, TX.

Affiliate Links — The Honest Version

Some activity cards on this site have a "Book It" button. These are affiliate links, which means:

      If you click one and book something, I may earn a small commission from the booking platform — at absolutely no extra cost to you. You pay the same price you'd pay going directly to their site.
    

Example: You click "Book It" on the Austin Bat Tour, book a $45 tour through Viator, and I earn roughly $3.60. You paid $45 either way.

I only add affiliate links to activities I'd actually recommend. The affiliate relationship doesn't change what shows up in your results — activities are filtered by weather, your budget, and your preferences. Affiliate links are never a factor in what gets suggested.

Privacy — What We Collect

The short version:

      We don't collect, store, or sell any information about you. We don't even know you were here.
    

Specifically, here is what we do not do:

No user accounts or sign-ups
No cookies or tracking pixels
No location data stored or transmitted anywhere
No analytics tracking your behavior
No email collection
No advertising or ad networks
No data sold to third parties — ever

Here is what we do:

Use your location (if you allow it) only to find your nearest city — it's never stored or sent anywhere
Pull weather data from Open-Meteo and the National Weather Service — both are public APIs with no personal data involved
Use standard HostGator server logs (these exist automatically for all websites and are not under our control)

When you click an affiliate link and visit a third-party site like Viator, that site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over what they collect.

Weather Data

Live weather comes from Open-Meteo (free, open-source weather API) and weather alerts from the National Weather Service. Both are public services. No API keys, no accounts, no cost to you.

Weather data is fetched fresh when you load the page and refreshes automatically every 10 minutes while the tab is open.
